Non-resident Tax Return 2006 – Published Today

The Royal Decree providing the model for the 2005 income year non-resident tax return has been published today in the Official Gazette(*).

The due date is not yet officially known, but based on informal contacts we have had with the tax authorities, it is planned to be 8 January 2007, the tax returns being sent to the taxpayers on 23 November 2006.

As last year, the non-resident taxpayer will be able to download the tax return from the website of the tax authorities, complete it on screen and then print off the completed return themselves. He/she (and the spouse or legal cohabitant, if applicable) must finally date and sign the printed tax return and send it back (by post) to the tax authorities along with the signed and dated official paper version received by (normal) post.
