PwC wins the HR Excellence Award 2010 as Best Tax Consultant

Laurels for innovation, quality and customer service in the field of HR Tax Consulting
On Thursday, 18 November, the HR Excellence Awards were awarded for the first time. The aim of this new initiative is to bring together the Belgian HR community at an annual gathering in order to pay tribute to products, outstanding service and innovations in the field of HR policy. The HR Excellence Awards celebrate not only important achievements but also offer an exceptional opportunity for HR professionals to compare their work with best practices in the HR sector. At this first edition, PwC Belgium received the HR Excellence Award 2010 in the category Best Tax Consultant.
The shortlist of nominations in the 14 different categories comprised 750 Belgian HR managers and directors. 6000 votes were cast. Apart from the Big Four, BDO and Tilleman & van Hoogenbemt were also nominated as Best Tax Consultant. PwC eventually emerged the winner from the ballot. “And that is certainly a great form of recognition,” says Joost De Groote, Tax Partner and Head of HRS at PwC Belgium. “It is not only an acknowledgement of the hard work put in by our staff but also a stimulus for the further development of our department and constant investment in our offering of qualitative client services. The strength of PwC’s HRS team lies in its offering of integrated services in the field of HR tax, HR law and HR management. We help clients achieve better efficiency in the organisation of their compensation policy as a component of their overall HR strategy.”
HR Tax Consulting is a part of the Human Resource Services offering from PwC. The services of PwC’s HR tax consultants are directed inter alia at Belgian and international personal income tax, regulation and advice on international employee assignments (people working abroad or foreigners coming to work in Belgium). In addition, they also support clients in structuring and optimising salary packages and represent them in their contacts with the Belgian tax authorities. The Belgian HRS team has a staff of 125, 88 of whom are active in HR tax, and it forms a part of a worldwide network of 6000 HRS experts.
